Once they had gotten back to the Tower, Robin had taken Will to the common room and turned him loose in the kitchen area before he went to one of the side rooms, basically a small office of sorts, really more of a small meeting room with a longish table and a scattering of chairs, and sat Violet down to talk.
"I know you're ready to crash, but I need you to hold it together long enough to answer a few questions for me, okay?" he took his mask off and rubbed his face some before he leaned back in the chair, and propped his feet up, looking at her for a moment, then voicing his first question; "Do you think this might be an act on his part? I mean, he was pretty much dead set on being the end of you up until today, any thoughts on that at all, I mean, outside of memory loss..."

"Actually, I am pretty sure it isn't," she said, meeting his eyes.
The gravity of the statement wasn't lost on her. He hadn't had enough instance to trust her judgment quite yet. If she was wrong, it was doubtful that he would trust it in the future. She was really sticking her neck out for him, and she wasn't exactly known for her trusting nature. She knew the consequences of misplaced trust. She had the scars to prove it.
"I've learned to be a fair judge of character, and I could see the conflict in his eyes when I fought him. It's gone now. Now, I know it would be stupid for us to trust him right away, but I think he's earned a chance to earn our trust."
She might've been exhausted physically, but she wasn't exactly loopy mentally. Tired, yes. But not to the point of losing her senses.

Tim toyed with his mask some then nodded; "Fair enough, I think that if you'd give him enough initial trust to vouch for a chance, then you must see something in him..."
Leaning back a little more he looked up at the ceiling and sighed, his fatigue not at the same level as hers, but it was more mental than physical at this point, but at any rate, he still had more questions; "Okay, now for the million dollar question, if it came to it, could you take him? And I don't mean power wise, I mean, since your powers are the same, could you beat him in a slugging match?"
This was most important, since Tim had faith in his own skills, and knew of some gadgets he had that could neutralize any threat, but what if he wasn't able to do that? Could Violet handle the physically more powerful Will?
He wanted to trust the guy, something in his gut told him too, but, he had to back that up with facts, and until he could, he had to play it safe...

"Our powers are similar, but not the same," Violet disagreed. "He has abilities that I don't have, and I have some that he doesn't have. He has the ability to transform into a wolf-like creature, although he's still trying to figure it out. Just like I'm learning how to deal with my newly discovered transportation abilities. With two wild cards like that in the mix, it's virtually impossible to tell who would win."
She sighed tiredly, leaning her head back against the headrest of the couch.
"I probably could take him out, but not without killing him," she said. "And I really don't want to kill anyone. But still, I can make an explosion anywhere there is oxygen. If I absolutely had to...I could create an explosion in his lungs..."
She trailed off, disliking the mental image, hoping that she wouldn't ever have to resort to something like that. She loathed the fact that she might have to if he became too great of a threat. She tilted her head back down and massaged the bridge of her nose.

"Sounds about right." Tim said as he switched his feet over at the ankles and then shifted some and looked back down at her, the wear showing at last on her face, despite her natural poker-face, which tugged a half smile from him, that stayed even at her answer to his last question, the only movement being his feet lowering to the ground.
"I hope it never comes to that Violet, I really would never wish that on either of you... But sadly, history tells us to prepare for that. But if Will ever needs to be stopped, you hopefully won't be fighting him alone." He stretched his arms out and then stood, walking to the door he paused and slipped his mask back on then pointed to the light button, "Wanna just crash here? You need the sleep, and I'm sure you'll be plenty hungry later..." he asked with a knowing smile.

"I'll sleep in my room," she said, standing. Her muscles were aching terribly, but she knew that all she needed was a day or two to recover. Her healing factor was accelerating the more frequently she used her powers, and she didn't know why that was. She was too tired to bother puzzling it out for herself. With a farewell nod, she retreated to her room, where she slipped out of her uniform and into a long t-shirt before collapsing into bed.
She was out like a light within seconds of hitting the pillow. A dreamless sleep always followed such exhaustion, and she welcomed it gladly.

Tim nodded his understanding and turned the light off once she had left the room, then he walked back to the common room to speak with Will, who he found sitting on the counter eating leftovers that likely had been in the fridge for longer than was normally healthy...
"Will... I'd like to talk to you." he said calmly as he walked up and sat at one of the stools next to the counter...

Will had found plenty of food in the kitchen area, and after living on the streets for over a month, and only getting food when he could either find it, or buy it (which while he had been able to the last two weeks, it was really hit and miss) he of course took Robin's advice and "helped himself" to any and everything in the refrigerator, his stomach rumbling loudly as he licked his lips and gathered some food up, ate, and then repeated...
Some time later, Robin came back and spoke with him, and after almost a half hour, Will replied; "I understand, and I agree, trust is not something to toy with..." leaned forward and looked at Robin nodding, before he covered his mouth and yawned, to which Robin told him to go and lay down on the couch for the time being, something Will did gladly...

Violet walked into the main room with a yawn, drying her wet hair with a damp towel. She wore her customary black cargo pants with bare feet and a sleeveless black beater which fell to just over her navel and hugged her flat torso and shapely chest. Flinging the towel over her shoulder, she sifted through the refridgerator until she found the orange juice and made herself breakfast. A small fruit salad of apple, banana, and strawberry slices went with her orange juice, and as soon as it was prepared, she leaned against the counter to eat.
That night's sleep had done her a lot of good. She was still a little sore, but it wasn't anything that would slow her down. She really wanted to start training again to figure the ins and outs of her new technique, but she knew that if she didn't eat, she wouldn't be able to harness her full potential. But despite all of the things she had planned, she couldn't help but appreciate the beautiful view from the glass wall. She could see the whole city from that vantage point.

Will had slept quite soundly on the couch that night, and when he had woken up, he found a small stack of clothing in his approximate size on the round coffee table that sat a couple of feet from the edge of the couch, so he changed into the lightweight yoga pants and left it at that, since he felt slightly warmer than "normal" and the room was fairly cool.
While his powers gave him and immunity to outside heat and cold, his own internal thermostat could still vary, and as such, his comfort level would as well.
Which was when when he sat up again from dozing on the couch at the sounds of someone in the kitchen area, and the gentle scents of Lavender and a strong, vital young woman...
As soon as he was upright, Will stretched his arms out, twisting them and his wrists about, a few loud pops sounding from his joints as he worked the kinks out, and worked his way down his lean, ripped yet compact frame, dense thick muscle flexing and moving under his naturally lightly tanned skin, which, other than a few noticeable scars, and a round black tattoo with various tribal like markings on the outer part of his right shoulder, was perfectly firm and smooth.
With a lazy yawn and a shake of his head, William stood and licked his lips as he turned to face the other teen that was in the large common room, and with a friendly if not slightly bleary eyed smile on his face, he greeted Violet; "Hynnnah! Oh, good morning!"
Rolling his shoulder, a bit he shook his hand some then offered it to her in greeting as he slowly walked up and stifled another yawn.

"Hey," she greeted him, sipping from her orange juice. "Did you sleep okay?"
Her face was basically expressionless as usual, but it wasn't cold. She was still getting used to the idea that he wasn't going to try to kill her as soon as he saw her. It wasn't as if she wasn't used to that reaction, but she wasn't used to that reaction changing from one person. After all, people who defected from their gang were usually either killed or driven away. They were never invited into an enemy gang because everyone knew that a turncoat couldn't be trusted. This situation was much more complicated than that, but the instinct was still there, and the caution in her actions showed that.
She popped another strawberry in her mouth.

"Like a rock, OH..." he replied as he twisted his head around slightly, stretching out his neck, a trio of loud pops issuing from his neck a his eyes crossed slightly and he savored the sweet release of stiffness and the increase of blood flow.
After a moment of standing there in blissful stupor, Will then regained his manners and gave a sheepish smile as he remember that there was someone else in the room; "Ahh, pardon me, heh... First real nights sleep I've had in... Well, I'm not really sure..." he looked away for a moment, his hand now rubbing his neck, slightly unsure what to say next, and to add it that, he could sense her muted feelings, softly adjusting to him, the wariness slowly transforming into a simple trust, nothing life changing, but it was a hundred-eighty degrees from what their relationship had been only twenty-four hours ago.
But William was still himself and as himself, he was slightly impulsive and perfectly honest; "So why did you stick your neck out for me anyways?"

"I know the feeling," she said, taking another sip of the orange juice. "For the longest time, finding a safe place to sleep was one of the hardest challenges I faced. Maybe not the most dire, but the most frequent. I was just living day to day, surviving however I could. And then Robin gave me the chance to do more with my life, and I'll be grateful to him for the rest of it. That chance is worth more to me than he can possibly imagine."
Finishing off her breakfast without another word, she walked into the kitchen and put the dishes in the sink. Staring at the stainless steel without seeing it, she laughed self-derisively.
"Not that I would ever tell him that," she muttered. She hoped that Will would get the point without her having to spell it out any further.

Will followed Violet into the kitchen area and found the glasses again, and poured himself some milk as he listened to her reply, a thoughtful look on his face as he stopped moving and looked at her back as she stood there at the sink.
"Hmm... I can dig that, really... I guess the same goes for me, I, well..." he paused and stared at his milk for a few moments before looking back at her and shrugging; "Well, I don't know, I may remember everything, or almost everything, but that hardly means it all makes sense, still, you made plenty of sense when it really counted, and while I'm sure sooner or later we'll need to figure out what to do about me trying to kill you for the most stupid of reasons, I am in your debt, likely for life, so if nothing else, comfort or no, I'll have your back from here on out." He felt like he had opened a prank can filled with the springy snakes, and while he wasn't sure where that visual came from, the mental image of various things exploding out from a closed container fit.
He had the feeling that he'd have to watch himself or he could end up blabbering about for way too long and sound like a hyperactive ten year old , and that wasn't cool by any stretch of thought...

"Uh...yeah, that's kinda unnecessary," she said, making a valiant attempt to hide her embarassment. "Anyway, I'm going to train today, so if you need me, you know where to find me."
Pulling the towel from over her shoulder, she swept it through her hair one more time and left the room. She wasn't very good with emotional displays. She'd spent a great deal of her life trying to hide her emotions out of necessity. Whether or not she wanted to change that now, and she wasn't sure that she did, it wasn't easy to make a 180. Still, she meant what she had said, even if she had sidestepped it a little rather than saying it directly. She wanted him to have the same chance that Robin had given her, and she saw a little of herself in him.
((Gah!! I give up. Sorry for the shortness.))
