Name: Koriand'r
Alias: Kori Anders, Starfire
Species: Tamaranian
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Team Affiliation: Teen Titans
Member Group: Hero
Canon: Yes
Appearance: Kori is supernaturally tall, taller than most males, with super long legs. She is slim and athletic, but blessed with soft curves. Wide green eyes offset a peach colored oval face that is graced by high, proud cheekbones and a perky little nose. She has cherry red hair that is often more messy than neat. It is long, almost to her waist. Her eyes, by the way, glow green.
She often doesn’t wear much in the way of clothing, which is normal for her people. They absorb energy from the sun, and as a result, she’s usually very warm. Overly fond of the color purple, (perhaps a result of the association of the color purple with royalty) all of her outfits have at least a little purple in it.
Personality: Despite having lived a life that is almost unimaginable, Kori is painfully naive. She is new to human life- all off its social conventions and ways of life. She is peaceful and happy to be with her friends. It is hard for her to believe that every bad guy is nothing but bad. She is loving and happy to be with her friends. Honest to a fault, she is not quite sure how to lie. It simply isn’t part of her nature.
Being an alien in a world where she could never be normal often has her quite insecure. It is a trait that often endears her to others.
Starfire takes friendship very seriously, and is often stressed and worried when the others fight amongst themselves. She just wants to be friends with everyone. She will not though, hold back when somebody threatens her team mates or innocent bystanders.

Strengths and Weaknesses:
Due to her alien physiology, Kori is able to absorb ultraviolet radiation and convert it into light and energy. Before meeting the Titans, her encounter with the Psions granted her this ability. This is largely fueled by her emotions, usually created extremely powerful starbolts. In outer space, she is able to breathe without help and able to withstand the vacuum of space. Extreme weather, however, is able to harm her. She’s also discovered that she is unable to breathe water. Through physical contact (preferably a kiss) she is able to assimilate a language. However, it isn’t always complete, as she often doesn’t understand some words or slang.
Both a weakness and a strength, Starfire is able to release a tremendous multi-directional blast of energy. The aftermath, however, leaves her weak and sleepy. Her race is highly resilient to radiation. She is able to fly up to and slightly beyond the speed of light.
Occasionally, her powers react beyond her control, such as when she sneezes and releases a large explosive amount of energy.
While she may not be as strong as Wonderwoman or Superwoman, she is extremely strong, able to pick up and throw a few tons. This on occasion acts against her, such as accidental bending a street light in half.
While rope and weaker metals can’t hold her, stronger metals, usually the alien metals, can hold her.
Her alien physiology adapts easily to human foods, and she is able to eat everything.
History:
After her older sister, Komand’r was born and pronounced defective (she didn’t have the ability to fly) Kori’s parents decided to have another child in order to keep the royal line going. As a result, Blackfire disliked Kori immensely, feeling that she stole the throne out from under her. A boy was born after Kori, Ryand’r, but Koriand’r was never around him very much. When she was fourteen, Blackfire and Starfire were sent to the Psions in order to create a treaty between the warring Psions and the peaceful Tamaranians.
The Psions did many experiments on the two sisters, one of them backfiring and giving the two the ability to absorb solar energy and use it to create energy blasts. It also increased their flight range, allowing them to fly faster than most Tamaranians. Both worked together briefly to escape from the experiments of the Psions and escaped into outer space, splitting up to head in different directions. Starfire ended up landing on Earth, where she battled briefly with the future Teen Titans, (Robin, Raven, Beast Boy and Cyborg) before kissing Robin in order to communicate with them in English.
At seventeen, she left for a year for a difficult mission in Paris involving the betrayal of a fellow Titan. After a long and difficult time, working with the Titans to get them to work together again, (excluding the betrayer, of course) Starfire has returned to find many things changed in Jump City.
Roleplay Example:
In the silence of the night, only broken by the sound of Beast Boy playing his newest video game alone in his room, Starfire sits up in bed. Her eyes glowing softly in the dark of her room, she lifts her feet off the pillow and slowly stands up. She hasn’t been able to sleep all night and quietly she glides over to her door and through it. Still silent, she nimbly moves down the hallway and up the stairway to the roof. Slipping through the door, she steps out into the cool night air, tilting her head up to smile at the stars.
She takes a seat at the edge of the roof, her legs folded up underneath her as she looks out upon the twinkling lights of the city and the reflection of those lights in the bay. Her thoughts however, are farther out in the universe, on the family she is and was a part of. Her older sister, Komand’r was still unaccounted for; this worried Kori. Not too long ago, she had announced that Blackfire was no sister of hers. How could anybody so black-hearted be related to her?
Her little brother, Ryand’r was growing up so fast! No longer was he the mischievous wild boy of her childhood! He was bound to rule. She knew that, accepted it. While she may have been raised for the role, it was not where she belonged. This was where she belonged- if she could get used to how different it was now.
Slowly she rises up into the cool night air, her feet leaving the cement of the Tower behind her as she twirls into the sky. This feeling, this freedom. It is exhilarating, beautiful. Few know it as she does. Starfire changes direction, going down, down, until one hand delicately caressing the bay water as Starfire flew above it.
