It was always the same story, in every city, in every state, in every place he had been in, there was always someone, somewhere who felt the need, or urge or whatever the explanation was, to get some form of weapon, and rob a convenience store, in the middle of the night...
Moving along the rooftops, Robin tracked a group of robbers, who had just done and smash and grab on a local convenience store, and had fled the scene before either himself or the police could get there, however, unlike the Police, Robin was able to find and track them with relative ease, and now it was just a question of picking a time and place to strike.
Preferably soon, and likely at the end of the alley they where running into to hide from a police car that was sweeping the dark street presently with its small spot lights.
Moving to the edge of the building he was on, Robin crouched down and pulled his staff out and clicked it out to its fullest extension before he sprung his coiled legs and launched himself down three stories into the middle of the quartet...
Once upon a time a small boy by the name of Alex worshiped and idolized a super hero team known as the Justice League. He was one day going to join them but first he had to prove he could be on a team at all. The teen titans. They were fast paced little heroes of the future. Alex believed that these guys would become the next generation of heroes. And so they were all heroic and everything but the team was allot more then that. It was about the connections and bonds the team members shared within the group. It was like another family, something in which Alex wanted so badly. To be apart of a team that looks at each other with love in there harts.
On this cold rainy night at the stroke of twelve what happened in this little town seemed to have happened more then once before. A robbery in a small blue store. Alex walked by the store as it was taken place. There were about four or so guys whom held there guns up to the cashier. "Put the money in the bag!" Shouted one of the men in a scary voice. Was Alex supposed to run in there and take all of the guys out himself? If he was to call himself a hero he would have done just that. However looking on top of the roofs he had seen a true hero in the flesh, Robin. Alex decided not to interfear and scope out how Robin handled things.
Although the young boy couldn't just stand by and watch as these people were stricken with fear for there lives. Alex balled his right fist with the only cupids ring in existence. "Do not fear these people, but do not be overly confident." Alex sent a vibe to everyone in the store. Making the frightened citizens feel at ease and peaceful in the middle of the robbery. As the crooks fled the scene Alex followed them for he would intern meet up with his idol Robin. Knowing that Robin would track the thieves down. And soon he did. Robin jumped down three stories high which would have injured someone less trained. He landed right in front of Alex. Alex tugged his cape, "It's really you, the leader of the titans, the boy wounder, Your Robin" Alex said in amazement. He to was dressed in his super hero costume.
Robin landed with a soft thud and held his staff out at the thugs as they turned a faced him, shock and mild fear in their eyes, before one of them saw the other boy and blinked in mild amusement then laughed; "Hey looky! Big bad bird boy's got some help from cupid tonight, oohhh look out boy's he'll poke us in the butt and make us want chocolate candy hearts!"
Robin glanced back at the boy and gave a short nod; "Yeah, I'm Robin... Excuse me." and with that he stepped forward and swiped his staff across the group, catching the closest man under the chin, and knocking him out, while smacking the next closest in the side of the head, dazing him.
That allowed him to move quickly to the next two, whom he laid out with expert blows to the mid-section and neck, subduing the would be criminals with ease.
Once they where restrained, he turned to face the new comer with a slightly inquisitive look about his masked face, as he walked up and then looked him over and extended his hand; "Okay, now for a formal introduction; I'm Robin, and you are?"
Despite the fact he'd never seen the boy before, Tim felt as if there was something familiar about him, although for the life of him, he couldn't quite say what yet...
After Robin had landed with just a small thud on the ground Alex was completely fixated on his moves. (So graceful.) He thought to himself. It seemed that the criminals caught wind of Eros Cupid and thought he was a joke. An unlikely wanna be hero who couldn't do much to bring down these bunch of looser. Well at least that's what the criminals thought. Alex had yet to make a name for himself and show everyone what he was capable of. It was to be understood that by dressing up and becoming a hero themed after a symbol of love will surly not be intimidating.
One of the criminals had made fun of Alex and told his peers to watch out because he might poke them in the butt and make them eat candy harts. Alex's tummy growled at the sound of the delicious candy harts. He held it tight to try and muffle the sound. "That sounds like a good idea." The little boy replied in a cocky tone as if he would forcefully shove the candy down there mouths and kick there butts. However his idol had beet him to it. Robin showed a variety of special moves and attacks on the remaining robbers while taking out the first two with one fellow swoop of his staff.
Alex watched in amazement as Robin displayed his combative skills. He looked in awe as Robin laid the final few blows. After finishing the slaughter Robin turned to Alex and extended his hand. Alex rushed to shake it. The Cupid's ring on his finger began to glow for it was attached to Alex's emotions. Robin introduced himself as if Alex didn't already know who he was. A bright smile lite up across Alex's face. "I'm Eros. It's an honer to meet you Robin." Alex replied as bent to one knee. Kneeling before Robin he lowered his head. "It is my deepest wish to serve as a member of your team. But to be exact....." Alex began to tell him now standing up on his two feet and peering into the masked man, "I want to serve under you my hero, my idol. I want to become your tool in battle. Please allow me to become your sidekick." Alex dove right into the question and the reason why he had followed the hero to these villains.
It seemed that the criminals had a boss. A big fat man with a gun came around the corner and shot a bullet at Robin's direction. It was aimed at Robin from behind. Being faster then a speeding bullet Eros circled around Robin and caught the bullet in one hand. His impenetrable skin made him feel no pain as the bullet stopped in its tracks leaving Robin harmless. The ring on his finger began to glow once more however this time Alex wanted to use it so he was calling forth its power. Alex stood in a martial arts stance and with a open palm he made a sudden push in the direction of the boss. As he did so there was red energy that shoot from his hands and hit the boss knocking him down on his back. Still able to move the boss leaned up looking at the two heroes and realizing what was about to happen. Alex stepped aside and made a gesture as if he was a door man. "After you." He told Robin knowing that Robin would want to beat this foe up as well.
The "eyes" (a soft polymer resin that was opaque on one side, and transparent on the other) of Robin's mask flexed wide as he watched the boy display some impressive pwoers, the chubby crook wasn slightly unexpected, but not really a huge threat, however at Alex's invatation, Robin smiled and nodded to him; "Thanks." and with that, he dashed forward, and took the unsteady crook down with a practiced form, and clearly effective training that rendered the man helpless, and hand cuffed in momnets...
"So Eros... I see that you have some sort of power ring... But the only ring like that I'm aware of is the ring of the Green Lantern Corps, where did you get that one?" Robin had heard that there where likely other types of pwoer rings in the universe, but thus far he only knew of the Green and Yellow Lantern rings, weilded by of course some of the greattest heroes, and villains, ever, chef amoung them, a long time friend and mentor, Green Lantern John Stewart, as well as his friend and mentor, Hal Jordon, and the newest Lantern, Kyle Rayner...
Alex stared into the mask of his beloved hero. For the first time he was wondering what the man looked like without his mask. Would Alex ever know the true identity of his famed super star? Or would he never get the chance to see who Robin is really, the man behind the mask. Alex didn't really care either way. A man such as Robin was noble and strong, Someone who Alex would follow knowing his true identity or not. Robin thanked Alex for his assist. Alex smiled brightly and gave the man a nod and Little grunt as if to say your welcome. He felt like a puppy being praised for a trick. Well what the tricks that Alex had he would prove himself to be useful. To have Alex dawn the heroic tittle of a Teen titan and choose the name Eros as his nickname.
As for seen Robin took care of the last of the villains with ease. The boss now laid on the ground with his hands in cuffs and the blank look on his face now knocked out because of Robins moves. Did the guy really think he had a chance to beat them with just a hand gun? Little did he know he was dealing with two full fledged heroes. Alex walked over to the man and as he knelled down he poked at him. "Hes really chubby." He said with a giggle and he continued to poke his stomach.
Eros stopped his little fun as mention of his ring came from Robin. He looked at his Cupids ring and Robin then mentioned the Green Lanterns. "This ring was given to me by my mother. She is pretty amazing. She's known as Super Girl in the Justice League. My daddy is a member of the green lanterns though. He helped me control the ring because they are so similar to each other, But unlike the lanterns power source my ring gets energy from within the person who wears it. It has all my weaknesses and all of my strengths." Eros told Robin and then he looked up at him to tell him the last part. "I want to be like my parents. I want to surpass them in terms of power and achievements. To make my goals a reality I wish to become your sidekick." Eros tried once again to bring up the subject of him joining the titans working along side Robin as he seemed not to answer the first time.
"My mother Kara Zor-El and my father Kyle Rayner have both been a member of teams of great heroes in there generation. Now its time for are generation to surpass them. I know that working with you will be the best combination for me because well.... Batman and Superman make a awesome team. The best in the world,,,,," Eros stopped and gave a wink to his new friend "That is until you and I team up." He said with a smirk As he ended his speech he extended his fist for Robin to pound it and give him knuckles. "I think we will make a great team so what do you say?" He asked him and awaited his answer with high hopes.
(ooc: sorry it took so long, i moved and it took cox for ever to come over and hook up my stuff in my new house XD)
Robin listened, his gloved hand resting lightly on his chin, his other arm crossed over his chest, and then at last nodded at the younger boy in the affirmative; "I'm sure that it would be a good thing..."
Thinking some more Robin waved the boy over to his side before he started walking, know that the boy would fall into step.
"Well, I'm not sure exactly about the sidekick idea, but I'm sure you've heard of the Teen Titans, and I think that would be the best idea, we can help you train, teach you how to fight, how to track, and reason things out, to be a detective and a help to any other heroes around you no matter the situation." As he rounded a corner, he paused and looked down the open street towards the tower, as police cars started to pull up, and an officer got out and approached the heroes.
Of course Robin stopped and answered as many of the questions as he could, and before long, he was free to go, so again waving Alex over, he started to walk back down the street, his eyes always open for trouble...
