Levy glared at the other girl and then raised her hands up, a blue glow covering them as her eyes turned solid icy blue and a chilly wind started to blow around her, the ground around all them frosting over everywhere except around Violet, and right up next to Shane, who she shot a dirty look and then retorted; "Get off it twinkle toes, We in the element might be freaks, but we're not monsters, not like him, and if he's got such a glass jaw as to be knocked about by the likes of you, then we don't have a use for him... Or you for that matter..."


She held her ground even as Darkbrand moved closer and issued her warning.
To which Levy laughed; "Ooooohhh, miss big hardcore wanna be super hero gonna try and bust me up? Sorry, but unlike the super hero school, here on the street, they teach us how to count..."

no sooner had she spoken then Dusty and Sparks stepped out behind Violet, their eyes also glowing, green mixed with rusty brown and white respectively...

"Its a shame really Shane, you where cute and where great at the heavy lifting, but you know the rules, freaks and geeks but no monsters..." the redhead Dusty said as stones floated up around her hands and she sized Violet up, while Sparks lit her hands with power and aimed at Shane; "Nothing personal, but you're no good to us now if you can't deal with the purple princess, and you're some kind of freaky beast to boot..."



The boy looked up at the all the girls in turn, his eyes a steely blue, deep, wet and lost as he blinked and sat up slowly, holding his face with one hand and holding his other arm up as if to protect it, as his big blue eyes blinked over and over and he coughed before looking to Violet and whispering to her; "I'm... I'm sorry... Sorry... Violet... You where right... I... Shane? ... But... My name... My... Name... Isn't... Shane... Isn't..."

The large furry boy looked up at each girl again, and found only anger, hate and disdain in all their eyes, all of them but one...

"I..." he said louder as he slowly stood up looking puzzled at his suddenly large size, but before he or anyone else could think of it, he threw himself between Violet and Dani as a bolt of lightening arced from her hands and crackled with loud pops and a flash of light, a howl of pain and agony shaking the area as the onslaught suddenly erupted with water and earth flying about.


And deep down inside of his heart, something far more noble and stronger than the darkness at last took control...

"'Superhero school'?" she repeated with a harsh laugh. "Your banter continues to expose your stupidity."

She thought it was a little telling that villains always assumed that heroes were silver spoonfed people out of touch with reality. It was a little ironic, though, that she was assuming that Violet was that way, since she'd never even started high school. She had lived on the streets for a long time, and she had learned to fight there. Including fighting against groups of people. Unfortunately, there wasn't much other than real life experience which could prepare a person to fight off three superpowered beings at once. There was only one way she could think of to drive them off. While she wasn't generally a reckless person, the idea she had was something she had to develop on the fly.

It had all started a week ago, when a bad dream had lit her room aflame. She woke up on the other end of the room, even though she could tell from the lack of footprints or scorch marks that she'd not walked there. The fact that the bed wasn't burnt to hell meant that she hadn't flown there either. Like most of her abilities, it had appeared suddenly and unexpectedly. She hadn't had much time to experiment with it quite yet... It would have to work. There weren't many options, especially with someone whose ability worked as quickly as the lightning girl's did.

All hell broke loose as the boy formerly known as Shane launched himself between Violet and the lightning girl. Her eyebrows nearly touched in a hard slant as his howl of pain split the night. Flames shot along the grounds around Violet as she prepared to fight, surrounding and weaving around the three in an intricate pattern that was only visible from the air.

"Stay down," she instructed in a low voice. "I can deal with these three."

The boy grunted as he forced himself back to his hands and knees, his left arm still held close to his broad furry chest, now marred with a long and wide scorch mark that ran down from his left peck to his right hipbone.
"No, you can't... Dusty, the redhead, she's really strong, and Sparks, not only are her powers fast, but so is she, and she's crazy flexible, and Chill... She's just really tough... Watch out for her knees, she likes to cover them with ice just before he jabs them into someone..."
Getting to his feet slowly, the wolfboy turned his head and popped it before he slowly stretched his injured arm out and worked it around with a grunting until it also popped and then his sizable muscles bulged convincingly.

Looked at his former ally's the tall wolfish boy locked his gaze on Sparks and waited for the next move to be made.


The next attack came from Dusty, as a shower of stone raced at the two pyros with a blast of brown and green energy...

Violet listened, her eyes still locked on the opponents. It was undoubtably an advantage to have someone who knew the aggressors, and she was glad that she didn't have to face off against the guy again. Not that she couldn't handle him, but he was certainly no pushover. She was happy to be fighting beside him, rather than against him. However, he was still underestimating her, as he always had. He wasn't to blame. After all, she'd never used this ability in battle before, and she didn't completely understand it herself. But this was a battle she wasn't willing to lose.

As the attack came, all of the purple fires flared for a fraction of a second before she shimmered out of sight like a mirage on the sidewalk. She reappeared instantaneously in the flames on the other side of Dusty, her glowing eyes appearing immediately before the rest of her shimmered into tangibility again. Her fist came at the girl before anyone could tell what just happened. Aiming for her kidney, she enforced the punch with stored kinetic energy. Whether or not it landed, she would have to get quickly out of range. She shimmered back to Shane's side with another white flare of fire.

The boy watched in shock as Violet suddenly vanished in a gout of flame and struck at Dusty as if she where a ghost rather than a person, but his shock was nothing compared to the cry of pain and surprise the redheaded girl let out as she fell to the ground, her legs numb and stiff, un-responsive to her wants to move, in any direction...


"YOU!" Sparks shouted at Violet as she let fly with bolt after bolt of electric energy, as Chill charged at "Shane" with ice on her hands...

"Levy, stop!" He said as he blocked and dodged her wild flailing attacks, her face contorted with hate and rage...

Violet's form was as elusive as a single tongue of flame in a wildfire, flickering in and out of visibility in a different part of the flame with every transition. Her glowing eyes always preceded her position, but it was so fast that no amount of concentration could predict her next position. Unfortunately for Sparks, Violet was a bit sick of messing around. As soon as she saw an opening, she went for Sparks, close to the same way as she had gone for the other. Instead of appearing behind, she appeared just in front of her, enforcing her punch with flames and kinetic energy which her system supplied to her arm.

Her hands were going to be terribly swollen after this, not to mention the enormous drain that the action was taking. She was going to be exhausted at the end of this.

Her face was hard and strangely emotionless as she fought, as she knew the danger in which everyone in the vicinity (with the exception of the now-nameless guy) would be if she were to lose her temper. What's-his-name seemed to be doing alright with the ice girl, but his recent excursions with them seemed to be hampering his fighting. She could definitely understand that much.

Sparks barely dodged the fire girls attack, her own attack going wild and taking out a light pole, but she did get a punch thrown back at her, but she was unsure as to if it would connect or not...


Chill however was now feeding off a busted underground water pipe, and blasting at the two pyro's with an almost constant stream of frost and ice, a blow the boy had warned against being the very reason he was holding his middle and gasping, the wind being knocked from his lungs...


And then there was of course, Dusty, who was at last able to get back to her hands and knees, her green eyes hard and dark, swirling with brown as she formed a large earthen hammer around her right hand, stood and then charged at where Violet had only just reappeared, a yell of anger and hate ripping from her lips...

Violet easily dodged the punch, but the energy from her own had to go somewhere. It met the earthen hammer with a thundrous impact, shattering the hammer as the energy was released into the rigid element. A cloud of fire expanded from the point of impact, pluming outward to engulf half of her forearm. It passed over her pale skin without harming it, but she doubted that the other girl would be so lucky. For a normal person, the flames would cause second or third degree burns, like sticking one's hand into the path of a flame thrower.

In essence, these types of attacks were a facet of the ability to create explosions. It takes the manipulation of kinetic, heat, and light energy to a new level, but she was able to harness one at a time, by dint of much practice. Very few pyrokinetics could do that. She had mostly practiced heat and kinetic energy, but she knew that the guy was skilled with both light and kinetic energy. However, she couldn't completely elliminate the other types of output. Each strike released all three in varying amounts.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw that the guy wasn't doing so well with his own fight, and frustration broke into her concentration.

"You were never this much of a pushover when you fought me!" she shouted over the fray. "What's the deal?"

Dusty stumbled back flailing her arms as her nose bled, her ears rang and her arm hurt badly, the mental feedback form having the hammer shattered so forcibly when she wanted it intact.

Still, much to her frustration, she was all but out of the fight now, her balance thrown off and her vision blurred from the massive trauma her and her powers had just suffered.


Sparks however was just getting warmed up as she cartwheeled at Violet and scissor kicked at her as sparks of electricity lept from her body onto the ground, hitting the puddles of water that where now everywhere thanks to Chill who had a sizable ice fist formed now and was directing the flow of water from the pipe she had pulled up at Violet, her attention having left the boy...


Which was a grave mistake as he stood, and huffed blue flame from his nose and mouth then charged her, shattering her icy hammer like fist with a powerful flaming kick, the energy released from the blow throwing her back onto her side, where dazed she saw a large silver and blue car speed up...

Sliding up and jumping out, Robin popped his bo-staff out and jumped into the fray, seeing that the large wolf (which was likely Shane based on the blue fire) was now fighting with Darkbrand against the others, so he palmed a few shock disks and tossed them at the attacking girls...


"Darkbrand! I'm here, Duck and cover!"
he called out as he charged into the battle...

Violet shimmered out of sight a second before the water and kicks would have hit, reappearing amidst the flames. It seemed from the limited tests she had done on the subject that she could only teleport within the range of her own flames. Luckily, that kept her away from the water, since water and fire didn't exactly mix. The only problem was that water could extinguish fire, and the water was spreading enough that her choices were becoming limited. Besides, she was just about to her limit of endurance with the new technique.

With Robin entering the battle, she sighed a breath of relief. If he was here, then all of the civilians must be already safe. He would not have come otherwise.

She reappeared just behind the girl and jabbed at her with swift and precise fists which hit the pressure points which kept her standing. If they landed, the fight would be effectively over. In any case, she was relieved at the course that the encounter had taken. The boy had resolved his issues to the point where he was no longer attacking her (which was definitely a step in the right direction), no civilians were in danger, and the three culprits were pretty much finished. Not dead, of course, but incapacitated all the same.

She shimmered back out of sight to the brands that were the furthest away, making way for Robin to do whatever he was planning. The flames in her system receded back behind their barriers, and the loss of the support made Violet's knees buckle. Her sore limbs were aching in beat with her pulse. She crouched on the ground on one knee, panting slightly. With each pant, her flames pulsed.

Moving swiftly, the boy crouched near Violet protectively as Sparks stumbled forward and then fell to her knees gasping before she looked at Violet and sneered as she fell face first to the street, out clod from over extending her powers...


"Are you okay Violet?" he asked as he touched her arm lightly, a soft white glow suddenly arcing between them, a tingle in his hand which made his gasp and pull away slowly.

He looked down at his hand and flexed his long furry fingers a few times, before he suddenly covered Violet with his own body as a bunch of sharp rocks flew through the air at them, his powers flaring out into a kind of shield that he flung back at Dusty, a wall of heat, light and kinetic thought that knocked the green eyed geomancer to the ground...

Violet looked where the glow had appeared, her still-purple eyes narrowed in cautious interest. What on earth?

At the failed attack, Violet chuckled tiredly, still panting. That was something she hadn't seen before, but then again the guy hadn't exactly seen her use her full strength before either. She had known that she herself was holding back, but she had been fairly certain that barring his lack of technique, his power had been virtually unleashed. As soon as she had her wind back, she spoke, subtly shifting away from his touch. What was that light?

"Nice," she complemented him with a friendly smile. "Were you holding back before, or did you really not know you could do that?"

With an offhand flick of her index finger, the flames vanished like a candle flame before a wind. Her eyes faded back to their usual dark blue as the flaming remnants of the battle were extinguished.

The boy looked to Violet and slowly stood she she could as well, his ears perked slightly as she tilted his head and shrugged; "Uhh... A little of both honestly..." he said as he worked his fingers around some, his hand feeling great, is if it had never been injured or harmed.
"My healing factor... It... Does your arm feel better?" he said, his eyes bright and busy looking, the gears moving at light speed inside his mind as things started to fall into place, one at a time...

Blinking, he could hear voices, remember names, faces, places, facts and other memories, all of them flashes he had fought to hold onto, and while he could now hold them in his mind, he honestly didn't know which was vital or important or not, all of it going from a hidden jumbled mess, to a jumbled mess in plain sight of his thoughts.


Shaking his head some, he watched Robin restrain the three girls, and then to Violet, and then knelt down, since he towered over her sleek slender frame with his massive yet lean frame, his eyes steely and bright, as he looked at her with a question so plain on his face that a big neon question-mark could have hung over his head.
"Violet... You're... You're not scared of me... Are you?" he asked in a small quiet voice as he looked at her like a lost puppy...

"Why would I be afraid of you?" she asked, her eyes narrowing in confusion. "Because you've got extra abilities that others don't? That would be hypocrisy, not to mention just plain stupid."

She didn't answer his first question. Part of the reason she had extinguished the fires, aside from the fact that her fires would burn until judgment day unless she put them out herself, was that they were a window into the state of her energy level. The pulsing happened when her energy was low enough. She didn't want anyone to see just how drained she really was, but that was just an unconcious thing. Anyone who looked at her limbs could see how they shook, and if she tried to walk, their soreness would be obvious to the onlooker. Still, the dislike of the concern of others kept her from telling anyone exactly how much pain she was in.

"Hey, Robin," she called, keeping her voice from showing strain. "What took you so long?"

A wry smile was on her face as she looked at him. He was finishing up the formalities; tying up the girls, generally doing what still needed to be done but what Violet couldn't exactly do herself at the moment. With a grunt, she shifted into a more comfortable position, ignoring the protest of her muscles.
