Though Will was the one with the powers of empathy, the link sometimes made her feel as if she had those abilities, giving her a window into his mind and heart as he had one into those of others. She could sense the absolute serenity he got from both of them being so close, and she had to agree that it felt just so... right. She didn't put much stock into religion, but she remembered one story she had been told about a Far Eastern religion, in which all energy in the universe fit into either the yin or the yang, and the symbol made up a full circle, each part of it being similar but distinct opposites in other ways, fitting together to make the harmonious whole. When she was with Will, she felt like they were both pieces of that puzzle, fitting together perfectly to create harmony within them both.
"And I'm yours," she answered, the words carried in both word and thought, her fingers coming up to wipe away the tear on his cheek. "Always and forever, no matter what."
She pressed her cheek against hers, the warmth making the moisture irrelevant. Her eyelashes brushed his warm skin and she pulled back to look into his eyes, her dark eyes soft. She was in pain, sure, but she could never forget about Will's pain, just as he would never discount her own. He had been through just as much as she had, if not more, and she knew that it had to be a strain to stay strong for her, just as she occasionally felt the stress that it took to stay strong for him. The push and pull of their relationship was balanced, and she knew that he needed her just as much as she needed him.
"You know, you don't always have to be strong either," she said, her voice muted.
There was no more that she needed to say. It was her way of giving him a shoulder to cry on, if he needed it. Because despite the serenity and strength on the surface, she could sense just as much pain underneath, at bay for the moment but ready to resurface whenever he was alone, and left to his own devices.
