Violet nodded and followed him down to the garage, where they got on their bikes and rode toward the beach. Her new bike was a bit sleeker and faster than the old one, plus it required a lot more fine tuning. She'd taught herself a lot about motorcycle since her last bike was destroyed in the crash. She had it calibrated just the way she wanted it. It responded to the slightest touch, and her now-practiced hand manipulated it like a pro.
After all, while it was convenient to fly every now and again, she didn't have the stamina for a great deal of sustained flight. She mainly only used it for emergencies and to slow rapid descents. For everything else, she was happy to have a motorcycle.
She followed closely behind him, casting the occasional nervous glance over at the beach. She was hoping that he didn't have much swimming in mind, but the link she had with him didn't give her much information beyond an extremely general peek into his emotions. He, on the other hand, could probably tell exactly what she was thinking. Beyond the telepathic abilities, he knew her pretty well. He knew how much she hated water.

Will led her down a small road to the far end of the small and currently deserted beach, but rather than stopping at one of the small lots, he drove on into the dunes and hilly area until it turned into a tree lined area with a tiny little cove, not a quarter mile from north beach, the area grassy with a thin strip of sand that led right up to a small shallow blue green pool of sea that shimmered in the sun light that found its way through the trees...
"Ta-da, not exactly north beach but close enough..." he looked back at her and winked before vanishing into the treeline some yards off, then reappearing with a large bag and a good sized red cooler.
"I was out here way early this morning, brought all of this and hid it, it's kind of a picnic get away, this is a fairly out of the way place, and we don't get tons of alone time unless we're out on a long-term mission like the one we took to LA last month."
He stepped up to her and smiled, a hand reaching up to her arm and lightly holding it as he spoke to her; "I know swimming isn't your thing, but..." he gazed into her eyes and smiled at her softly; "I mostly just want to spend some quality time with you, this is a special day, and I want it to be remembered."
Will smiled at her then leaned down and gave her a tiny kiss in the nose before he whispered to her in a playful voice; "And I've wanted to see this swimsuit you where rumored to have bought..." he leaned back and winked at her again, as he laughed, ducking the half hearted retaliation he knew would follow.
Walking back to the bag, he pulled out a large blanket and a umbrella like sunshade, and set up a spot for them, getting the cooler moved into place and then at last kicking his shoes off and gathering his jacket, tee-shirt and boots, leaving him in his jeans, and the swimsuit he wore under them.
Will knew she wasn't fond of swimming, or massive amounts of water, and he could understand why, but he had grown up loving the outdoors, his memories now again whole, he could remember hiking, camping, sports and swimming, all manner of activities, and it was hard to just not do them, and while working out and training where fun, there was something about being out in the fresh air and sunshine that made things so much better, and to face facts, the roof of the tower was only so big.
So he had been looking forward to this, to spend time out side, in a nice quiet place with his girl, to just talk and be close, to be somewhat normal, even if they had to hide a bit to do it safely and without interruption...

Violet pulled up beside him and turned off her bike before removing her helmet and shaking out her long black tresses. Placing the helmet on the bike, she looked around the area. It wasn't an area she'd seen before, and it was quite beautiful. The grassy cove was lined with two rows of trees, and there was only a small strip of water cutting through it. Stepping off of her bike, she shouldered her bag.
"Frankly, I'm surprised that you do like to swim," she said. "You can't light fire in water any more than I can."
Maybe it was a personal preference, but most pyrokinetics hated water, in the same way that plant manipulators hated fire. It was the antithesis of their powers, and it was generally their weakness. Besides that, nothing to drain heat like water. Her body was kept at a much warmer temperature than normal people, but water always tried to equalize temperatures, and nothing drained her body's energy like staying in water. She didn't really mind water when she took showers, but that was only because of the heat of the water.
She punched his shoulder at his words, a sour smirk on her face.
"I'm sure you do," she snorted.

Will gave her a big smile, his eyes shimmering brightly as he stood back up; "Hmm, you can't blame me can you? And while I can't do that just yet, I've been working on it, still, I can do stuff with light underwater, and I guess me being hotter than you temp wise it doesn't affect me as bad."
Truth be told, swimming was a rather conflicting activity for him, on the one hand, he loved the physical activity of it, and the challenge, plus being super-powered as he was, he was a strong swimmer, but, like Violet, water was what would null his power over fire, and while a little water wasn't a big deal, enough of it rendered that power useless.
"Anyway, I was ready and you weren't, and that's not totally fair, so here..." He moved the umbrella over to the thickest clump of bushes and trees, then moved away, giving her a place to change with a high level of privacy and modesty, her personality not so much ashamed of herself and her body, but just modest, which was appealing to Will, both due to her beauty, and her attitude about herself.
But that was all extra stuff, today was about being young, in love, and for a change, somewhat normal, even if such a thing was never possible, it was the thought, the idea of just being with that one person you loved, that drove Will to this. After all, she was the one special person he had in the world now...

Violet sighed and went over behind the umbrella to change. She closed her mind to his sight by thickening the barriers around her minds. Those barriers kept her powers reined in, but Blaze could usually see into her mind by something that was a bit like diffusion. Like the barrier was a semi-permable membrane and while it kept the flames in, it didn't keep his thought-probe out. By thickening the barriers, he couldn't see through. She wasn't opposed to him seeing into her mind, but in this case she was trying to perserve a bit of privacy.
"No peeking," she warned.
She changed quickly and stuffed her clothes in the bag before coming back from behind the umbrella. She wore the swimsuit, which was black and cut down in between her breasts to stop near her navel. A tie kept the two halves together, and the back swept down almost as low.
"So, what do you think?" she asked, sweeping her hair back behind her ear.
The swimsuit accented her slim form nicely; her toned muscles, her smooth pale skin. Considering how covered she usually was, this was as little as she'd ever worn in front of him. Many of her scars which she kept hidden were visible. The scar from Elias was visible on her back; a slightly raised part of flesh an inch and a half deep. The scar from her first instance of stitching on her leg, from a knife fight a couple years back. A series of small scars on her left shoulder from a broken bottle. There were many scars, each with their own story, some of which she'd forgotten. The previous violent life she'd led held its proof on her flesh.
She loosened the mental barrier carefully and slowly, not wanting to lose control of her powers. Loosening the barrier was always dangerous.

"I promise." Will said as she slipped behind the cover, his eyes closing as he turned his back and pulled his mind and senses back from her, keeping only the barest link between them, as he looked out over the small clearing and pool of blue green water to the far horizon, as he waited for her to change...
Turning to look at her, will felt his breath catch and his heart hammer for a moment or two before his smile grew soft and warm as he moved closer and inspected her some. He had seen a few of her scars, mostly the smaller ones she had on her arms and one or two around her mid-riff when her suit or clothing got damaged there, but never had he seen so much of her almost perfect pale porcelain like skin at once, and he could see more of the marks the streets and time had made on her, much like the marks of training, hero work and the steep learning curve he had endured had marked him, his lightly tanned flesh also scared, some of them marks where faint, and old, a few where deep, almost ugly, and old marks, and some where more recent, but they where apart of him, much like she was now...
"Wow... You're..." he reached out to her and brushed back the other half of her hair from her face, before he gazed into her dark blue eyes, the feeling of her letting her barriers relax, the link growing stronger almost with the close proximity as he leaned in and down, and kissed her softly, his hand sliding behind her head, the other moving to her waist as he pulled her close and just kissed her for a good few seconds, then broke away and smiled at her as he gazed into her eyes; "You're stunning Vi..." he whispered as he just soaked up the feel of so much more warmth, transferred to him through soft thin fabric and smooth pliable skin, his internal fire flaring out, making his eyes glow softly as he felt a longing deep in his gut and loins that for a moment over ran everything else as he kissed her again, his lips parting just slightly and his tongue gently begging her lips for entrance as he tightened his hold on her for a few more moments before he pulled back and paused, with a slight pant, his cheeks reddened with a blush...
He had never felt more masculine before then at this very moment...

Violet smiled before meeting his lips with her own. Pulling herself closer with her arms wrapped around his neck, parting her lips to allow him entry. Her fingers rubbed along his neck and muscular shoulders. Her own powers flared as well, lighting her eyes momentarily before they pulled away. Her dark eyes met his baby blues as they parted, and they conveyed her absolute contentment, along with her Mona Lisa smile.
"I'm glad you like it," she said, slightly breathless.
She could feel her flames closer to the surface, but she was a bit too distracted to care. Even if some flame broke through, she couldn't hurt him with it. She wasn't tired enough for anything catastrophic to happen as a result. No, she would let it stay there, close to the surface. She could feel his own flame so much more strongly when it was flaring as his was, and she knew that he felt the same way.
Her fingers traced the musculature of his chest, lightly skating over his numerous scars. The slight trace of blush on his face was so cute...
"If that's what you brought us here to do, I don't see why the trip was necessary," she teased.

Will closed his eyes slowly and bowed his head as he murmured a soft laugh out then looked back at her and shook his head; "Hmm, well, I just wanted you all to myself today, and I didn't want Tim or any of the others randomly showing up to interrupt us..." he leaned in some and nuzzled her face, cheek on cheek, the warmth was addicting, as like her, and like all pyros, Will loved heat, and with both of their powers swelling under the surface as they where, the heat was growing between them, in every way, and of course, as a male, regardless of bloodlines, being so close to a female that he was so attached to, drove Will's senses wild, deeply buried, and well hidden parts of his psychology suddenly wiggled out as he pulled her just a little closer to himself, his lips finding her soft hot neck as his hands slowly started to roam her back, his skin tingling at her touch...
"I just want today to be... Our day..." he whispered as he at last pulled his lips away from a tour of her neck, cheek and lips, the sweet yet hot cinnamon like flavor of her mouth burning his lips in blissful agony at being parted from the source, his steely baby blue eyes softly glowing in total devotion, and longing at her, his adoration of this lovely girl complete and total...

Violet sighed in contentment at his touch, closing her eyes with her face toward the sky. The faintest of flame patterns appeared on her skin where his lips touched her neck, drawn toward the warmth of his breath. They faded as he pulled away, though she didn't realize that it had been there in the first place. Usually, when her flame entered her system, it burned painfully, but she felt none of that pain now. Instead, all she felt was the blissful warmth of his hands on her bare back.
"Sounds good to me," she sighed.
She rested her cheek against his smooth chest, loving the warmth of it. She breathed in the intoxicating smell of his skin, her eyes still closed as she leaned on him. There was nowhere she felt safer than there in Will's arms. She had seen the strength in his muscles many times in their time with the Titans, but while they were capable of great destruction, his arms were so gentle when he held her. Her fingers stroked his tanned skin as she revelled in the warmth and the strength under her fingertips. Not just physical warmth and strength, but emotional and spiritual strength.
"Happy one year," she whispered.
She was grateful beyond words that he had been hers for an entire year.

"Happy one year, Mon Amour..." Will whispered as he held her close, one arm at last pausing in its movements, his left forearm resting along the small of her back, right on top of the curve that flowed into her round, sleek, and shapely bottom, his hand gently gripping her hip as his other hand trailed up her side to her neck, where his fingers tangled in her soft straight hair, lightly stroking and combing it as he kissed and nuzzled the top of her head, the sweet softness of her hair lulling him into a trance as she rested herself on his body, the softness, and warmth did little to hide the hidden power she held in her, the heat now permeating little hidden area like a hot desert wind that simply moved in slow lazy circles in the tiny clearing...
Will drank in the feel of her bitter-sweet flame pressing into his own, the warmth of her flesh on his, the sensual tingles, and the sheer push and pull of her through their link seemed to drive this deeper and deeper until it was as if their hearts and minds where but two flames held close to each other, dancing ever closer, just barely mingling at the fringes.
At last he moved his hand over and cupped her face lightly as she rested her head on his chest, this simple gesture spoke volumes to his soul, the simple trust she placed in him, made him feel as if he was the most powerful person ever, holding her like this, and while he knew she was far from some poor frail helpless girl, he also knew that she had seen him cut a swath of damage and destruction across the city with nothing more than his bare hands and feet, countless machines and ghoul's having suffered his wrath, to sat nothing of the projection of his inner power, which much like her own needed to be watched and held in place, except around her. And that was just one little reason why she was his one special person, among all the other reasons that where almost countless to him.
Very slowly, almost painfully, Will relaxed his hold on her and eased her away, his eyes and lips smiling gently at her, the glow in his steely baby blues both from his powers and joy, his movements slow and deliberate as he moved over to her and then scooped her up in his powerful arms and carried her to the large blanket and laid her down with a kiss , and then lay next to her and sighed as he held her close with one arm and again brushed her hair back with the other hand as he spoke softly; "You know you're my one and only right? My one special person?" he said as his eyes half closed and he tilted his head lazily down slightly and smiled at her.
God above, she was so beautiful, what had he done to deserve her?
