He stood on the roof of the Wayne building, just behind the large "A" in the shadows that the back side of the letter provided, the vanity of such a large and bright sign, burning away the darkness with such luminosity as to make it some sort of hazard to low flying aircraft at night...
He glanced at his wrist and moved a small cover off the face of his watch, the hands and numbers glowing a bright and comforting blue green and indicating that it was now one AM, and he had one more hour before he would have to find either someone else to get that steel case for him, or he'd have to do it the old fashioned way, which while spectacular and good fun, was also messy, and high risk, something he was not fond of when the rewards where not significantly greater than the risk.
Replacing the cover Martian C. Taylor adjusted the hood that covered his face,, from both the mild chill of the air and prying eyes, the shroud just one of many parts of his simple but effective outfit, the garb of Vorac, the self-serving...
The phone in his mask rang wildly Red X let it click over, "What is it?" The older man cleared his throat, "We have a hit for ya, some guy by the name of Vorac." Red X listened to what the message had said. "Fine thanks for the info, think its time I earned me a quick pay day." Clicking off the receiver he smiles, "Alice give me a the teleport location on the meeting spot." His a.i. Alice as he called her pulled up and location, "All readings normal sir teleport calculations all in the green." Red X smiled and jumped up from the back alley he was standing teleporting as his feet left the ground.
Red X landed on the roof gently moving swiftly to were he had been told the meeting would be he smiled as his mask switch to a heat thermal scanner scanning the top of the roof he found his target. Walking from the shadows his cape hiding his body he looked at were the heat signature was coming from, "You the man with the job, or do you like freezing out here?" The details of the job had not been mention but a whole lot of many had been which in turn was good enough for Red X.

Martian turned his head, the small but effective hood hiding his features but not muffling his voice as he called out; "Yes, I'm Vorac, the one who contacted you... However, I'd have your suit checked up on, the climate control might be broken, it's only fifty seven at this height, a brisk evening, as the British would say..."
His accent was well educated and even, Midwestern and that was about it, it was also disguised slightly thanks to an old theatrical trick that had to be learned from someone who knew it backwards, which of course, Martian had...
He held up a small black duffel then pitched it to Red X, inside was $10,000 dollars, just like he has said in the message he'd sent early this morning.
Now it was just the matter of the infamous Red X wanting to take this job...
Red X looked down Alice switching over to a scan to check and see if there was money in there and how much. "Cant say i would know how cold or warm any thing is , suit keeps it nice and normal for me, but then again i didn't check the weather not a key factor in my line of work when your me." He had a feeling the man was hiding his voice abit but it didn't matter to Red. After all Red X hide his face and voice, "Now tell me what the job entails and ill tell you if I take it."
Red X's suit slipping into defense mode as e waited, no reason he should let his guard down. His suit also giving out a jam-mer signal in cause any one else was listing in as he shifted his weight and crossed his arms.

Giving a satisfied nod, Vorac pulled out a small data pad, about half the size of a notebook computer and opened it, flipping the top around and folding it back to reveal a LCD screen, which flickered to life and showed a small black and blue steel box about six by seven inches square, with a small high-tech lock on the top.
"This is the package, it's located on the seventeenth floor, in the west wing, now that's not the most secure area of the building, but I would conclude that the room it's in is quite secure, and that whatever this case is in, will be wired up like an old Cray super computer, now from what I've been able to find out, the case itself is perfectly harmless, no booby-traps, or nasty surprises, so long as the lock isn't tampered with, if you try and pick it or tamper with it, it will send out a charge that would likely fry that suit of yours or at least reset it."
He looked from the pad to X and suddenly wished his face wasn't covered, so that the importance of this next part wasn't lost; "Now, it is vital that you leave the lock and case in tact, otherwise you've just made twenty thousand for being a really quiet vandal, and I will be forced to extract the relief for my frustrations on your person, and don't think that just because you're Red X that means you're safe from me, to date I hold sway over no less than five major heads of state, four of which are nuclear powers, and two of them are major world powers, so I can find anything on anyone, no matter how long it takes..."
He paused then summed it up; "In short, just do the job, don't over step the bounds and everyone's happy, but then that's your reputation, so I'm confident that we'll have no conflicts."
He was relying on this "expert" (Martian truly believed he was just incredibly lucky) for a vital part of his plans, and personal quest, this item would allow him to charge the ancient capacitor for the Alien device he was rebuilding, a kind of weapon and tool that would grant him so much power...
"The next shift change is in ten minuets and we're on top of a twenty-seven story building, I suggest that you get going."
Red X have a cocky salute and stepped back wards of the building, "Alice schematics, and floor lay out." As he began to fall his teleported. Landing a office he looked around, a black desk sat in the the office and a few painting on the wall. Red smiled, "Alice, scan for heat sources while i go to work inform me if there is any one on there way to me." Walking toward a big picture of a happy looking couple Red X picked the picture off the wall. Making sure there were not pressure switch before he had done so he now looked at the safe it was not the newest module but it was secure enough.
"Alice scan." the vison in his mask switched over to a scan like mode, "Security wire for silent alarm here and here," Alice marked them in his vision. "Thank you Alice." walking over he placed a finger in each spot and smiled, "Alice release." 50 nanobots sprung from each finger racing threw the metal and cutting the wires before coming back to him. Placing his hand against the safe he smiles, "Now comes the fun part."

Vorac nodded and them moved back into the shadows and waited, going over the specs of the building and the security systems that Red X would be going against, as well as some other items that needed his attention, as Martin Taylor that is...
The nice thing about his data pad was that it worked like a normal laptop computer, and as such, could could send various documents via secure wireless signals to either his personal computer at his home, or to his computer at work, so that at any given time, he could give proof that he was "working" should he ever be approached about anything connected to his alter ego Vorac.
But so far, no one had found a link, or even seemed to suspect that Martin C. Taylor, businessman, academic and philanthropist was the high class theif and thug Vorac, and he meant to keep it that way...
